This quotation raises three very intriguing questions for me.
- How does innovation happen in independent schools?
- Is our leadership structure (one head, Board of Trustees, division heads, parents association, committees and task forces, and so on) stifle innovation? Or, is it still possible within the defined roles and structure to facilitate risk-taking and experimentation?
- Is the traditional schedule and school calendar obstruct innovation in schools? Can we truly design innovative teaching and learning experiences with 7 periods a day, 45 minutes per class?
